Paul Edward “Eddie” Dime II, 51, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on May 2, 1969 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Paul and Maytha Whelchel Dime Reather. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dale Whelchel, Mildred and Otis Pittman, his paternal grandparents, Edward and Joan Dime, Cecilia and Ralph Froschauer, and stepfather, Sonny Reather. He is survived by his mother, Maytha Reather, father, Paul Dime, and stepmother, Jessie; sister Julie Dime Keffer (Todd); stepsisters, Deana Beecham Nelson and Kelly Beecham Layman; sons, Jonathan Dime (Trisha), TC Dime (Shelby), and Ethan Bishop; daughter Lauren Ashley Paige Dime; and 6 grandchildren, Amilya and Juliet Dime, LJ Villarreal, Alice Bishop, and Monroe and Paityn Dime, along with many family members and close friends.
Eddie was a graduate of Ft. Smith Christian School and the California Police Academy. He worked at the Yreka, California Police Department and served on the Ft. Smith police force for several years before joining Winn Nelson Company and alter Ferguson Corporation in the wholesale plumbing business in Tennessee and Texas. Later in life, Eddie became active in martial arts and became an instructor in knife fighting. He enjoyed teaching and participating in various marital arts competitions.
He was an avid supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks-Go Hogs! His family and friends have many fond memories of his contagious laugh, loving spirit, big heart, and kind soul.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at The Bridge Church, 6101 US-271, Ft. Smith, Arkansas 72908. The family will visit with friends beginning at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
