Randy Luke Davis, 53, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was a retired Sebastian County Paramedic Supervisor for 30 years and currently employed as a business field auditor for the Sebastian County Assessor’s Office. He was a Greenwood High School graduate of 1977. He served as EMS Supervisor during the Katrina Relief Effort for which he was congressionally recognized by the U.S. House of Representatives, he was Paramedic of the Year in 2007. He was a Reserve Deputy and served as one of the first medics for the SWAT team, he graduated from the FBI Basic Swat School and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #131 F&AM.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Thursday from 1 – 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church, where the family will visit with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
He is survived by his wife Bethany; two sons, Clay Davis of Greenwood, Josh Davis and wife, Misty of Cabot, AR; four daughters, Ashley Davis of Greenwood, Kaylee Banning and husband, Joe of Oahu, Hawaii, Eden Hester and Erin Hester both of Fort Smith; his parents, Luke and Robbie Davis of Greenwood; three brothers, Jack Hackney and wife, Gayle of Fort Smith, Jim Hackney of Greenwood and Jackie Davis and wife, Heather of Greenwood; two sisters, Brenda Brooner and husband Chuck of San Diego, CA and Darlene Hayden of Greenwood and five grandchildren, Hal Davis, Braydi Davis, Brycen Davis, Anniston Douglas and Nathan Galasyn and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmie Davis and uncle, Bob Sadler.
Pallbearers will be Harold Scharbor, Paul Reano, Jamie Sharum, Ed McClelland, Matt Douglas and Shawn Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Sebastian County EMS employees, Fort Smith EMS employees and the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Department.
