Heaven has surely gained another angel. Reuben Asa Strozier, 90 years young passed from this life to a much better rebirth on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. He was born to Reuben Asa and Cora (Williams) Strozier on April 24, 1932 in Greenwood Arkansas. He was a God fearing man and loved all praise and worships live and especially Jimmy Swaggart on TV. He left this world surrounded by loved ones with several good laughs and giggles.
Reuben loved the land and worked hard at gardening, farming and keeping the place looking good, while he was able. The land that he worked has been in the Strozier family for 142 years.
He loved his family with all of his heart. You could tell by the smile and twinkle in his eyes when you came through his door. He was a loving Dad, Husband, Pops, Papaw and Papa to many.
He was retired from the Arkansas Highway department, a collector of all things and could not pass up a good yard sale or auction.
Reuben leaves behind his loving wife, Kay Strozier of the home and seven children, Rebecca McCall (Rusty-deceased) of Hackett, Sandy Magnani (Scott) of Hartford, Reuben Allen Strozier (Angela) of Greenwood, Sylvia Tucker of Greenwood, Elygenia Campbell (Richie) of Hartford, Kenneth Burris (Eva) of Greenwood and Mylissia Haskins (James) of Hot Springs. He had nineteen grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, three brothers, Harvey, Hoot and Buddy, two sisters, Helen and Georgie and his daughter, Karren Howard.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 13 at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Friday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons.
