Robert Timothy Herring

Robert Timothy Herring, 70, of Rudy, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 then his wife, Vira (Vi) Lou Herring Friday, (three days later) July 23 in a Fort Smith hospital due to complications from the Coronavirus. He was a United States Air National Guard Vietnam Veteran, conducted international missionary work, and she was a homemaker both were of the Christian faith.

Visitation for those who knew them both will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR, with his interment at Roselawn Holy Cross Cemetery. Vi will have a graveside service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Bolton Cemetery in Alma, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Cremation for Mr. Herring was under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood, Arkansas.

They are survived by one son David Herring, and wife, Safura Bhwandiwala of Fairfax, Virginia; four daughters, Shanda Parish of Fort Smith, Kari Herring of Barling, Ruthanna Long and husband, Danny of Alma and Sarah Morgan and husband, Adrian of Fort Smith; honorary daughters, Nadia Alsein of Booneville, Arkansas, and Zain Alsein of Fort Smith, Arkansas; his brother, Joseph Andrew Herring of Prescott, Arizona; her brother, Bobby Collins of Van Buren; his sister, Linda Jean Wiederkehr and husband Al of Altus, Arkansas; his sister-in-law, Barbara Herring of Bentonville, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren, Austin and Hanna Long, Danielle Scholten, Haley Herring, Courtney and Rasheed Morris, Allie Lopez, Brice, Madison, Tristan and Khloe Morgan, Sulaiman and Sofia Herring and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Eileen Homan-Herring, his identical twin Richard Thomas Herring, and honorary grandson Brock Richmond.
