Ronald Walter Messick, 91, of Hartford, Arkansas passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was born June 16, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland to Sidney and Helen (Struzinski) Messick. Ronnie served for 12 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War, he was discharged in 1956. He married Shirley Ann Lockhart on July 19, 1959. He and Shirley built their home in 1964 in Hartford and lived there until 2023, when they moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He retired after 31 years from Whirlpool, member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church and member of the Hartford Booster Club. He was very active in the community of Hartford, helping others, serving as Mayor, Boy Scout and Eagle Scout Leader and owned Ronnie’s Recreation Center in Hartford.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Messick and several nieces and nephews.
Rosary followed by mass will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 13 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Hartford with burial at Hartford Memorial Park under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
