
Roy Gene Hamilton, 75, of Wilburton, Oklahoma formerly of Hackett entered into his heavenly body on Thursday, February 20, 2014 in the Mercy Hospice Unit after a four year battle with bone cancer. He was born on December 29, 1938 to Everette and Reba Hamilton. He was retired from the Sebastian County Road Department as an operator. He was a past member of the Greenwood Gideon Camp. He and his wife were supporters of Summer Christian Camps; they were members of Wilburton Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2014 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith at 12 noon.
Roy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Elaine; four children, Pam Stewart and husband, Bryan of Cookson, OK, Linda Kovaick and husband, Mark of Hackett, Charlie Hamilton and wife, Becky of Hackett and Donald Hamilton and wife, Debbie of Abbott; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; his constant companion, Kizzy and his precious Uncle Howard Hamilton, who was his mentor in life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Roger Dale Hamilton and a niece, Paula Kay Hamilton.
Pallbearers will be Leon Brown, Donald Winkley, Terry Felder, Kenneth Hamilton, Lynn Basinger, Johnny Gamble and Sonny Davis.
