

Shirley Mae Davis, 81, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born July 30, 1935 in Inola, Oklahoma to Ben and Ethel Hobbs. She was retired from Today's Kids in Booneville and attended First Assembly of God Church in Greenwood.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, December 8 at Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at New Cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Wednesday from 5 – 8 p.m. at Chateau on the Greens, 10560 S. Hwy. 96 in Greenwood.
She is survived by her loving husband, Alvis Davis; one son, Cary Davis and wife, Marguerite of Greenwood; one daughter, Charlotte Nolan and husband, Donald of Van Buren; one brother, Ralph Hobbs, Jr. and wife, Susan of Bakersfield, CA; two sisters, Donna Lovett and boyfriend, Gary Moore and Delores Bruce and husband, Charles both of Bakersfield, CA and five grandchildren, Bryan, Travis and Kimberly Davis, Nathan Nolan and wife, Betsy and Alex Nolan and fiancé, Samantha Harrison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ethel Hobbs and one brother, Omen Chester Hobbs.
Pallbearers will be Brian, Travis and Kimberly Davis, Nathan, Alex and Donald Nolan, Steve Davis and Clifford Turner.
Foremost, Shirley was a Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley cherished her grandkids and her family. She was always loving, caring, compassionate and giving to all of her family. We have been truly blessed and she will always remain in our hearts. Her crocheted afghans and blankets will keep all the family in comfort with beauty and fond memories.
