Sondra Carter

Sondra Carter, 73, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was the Assistant Financial Administrator for the Sebastian Retired Citizens Association, member of the Senior Citizens Bowling League and the Greenwood First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Carter; one son, Dale Carter and wife, Laura of Greenwood; one daughter, Shelly Kern of Greenwood; two sisters, Susie Butler of Greenwood and Cheryl Craig and husband, Larry of Greenwood; one sister-in-law, Melanie Elmore; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Wabane Elmore; one brother, Eddie Elmore and wife, Kim; one sister, JoAnne Escalanta and her husband, Donnie; a great grandson, Mason Carter and her brother-in-law, Pete Butler.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 14 at Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at Oak Valley Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Friday from 2 – 7 p.m. at the church, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be J.D. Carter, Larry Craig, Conner Ciesla, John Ciesla, Keith James, Willie Don Solesbee, Zach Carter, Lance Butler, Tim Craig, Ryan Elmore, Reid Carter and Travis Craig.
