Wanda Sue Langston, 77, of Waldron, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 2, 2026. She was born on February 27, 1949, in Waldron. She lived a long and beautiful life and was blessed to spend her final years independently, doing exactly what she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Audie Austin Starr and Evelyn Agathy Smith.
Wanda was a hardworking and dedicated woman who gave 35 years of her life to Whirlpool, faithfully working the line. She took pride in her work and in providing for her family, demonstrating strength, perseverance, and commitment throughout her career.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her three children: Paula Derrick, Paul Langston, and Thomas Langston. Her family was the pride and joy of her life. Known lovingly as “Meemee,” she was the heart of her family — the one who always had a warm hug, a listening ear, and unconditional love waiting. She was a proud grandmother to Blake Cherry, Lacy Berry, Lindsey Langston, Heaven Langston, Kennady Langston, Karter Langston, Koleman Langston, Kolby Allphin, Lauryn Langston and Austin Quinalty. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Katlyn, Jacob, Maverick, McKenzie, Bella, Eli, Ezra, Grey, Tegan, Maggie, Riverlyn, and Dakota. Each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and being “Meemee” was one of her greatest joys in life.
Wanda was loved by everyone who knew her. She lived her life with strength, grace, and independence. She found joy in the simple things and treasured the time she spent with those she loved. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to her family and friends.
Though she will be deeply missed, her love and legacy will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.” – Revelation 21:4
