Only once in a lifetime do you come across someone as fierce, strong willed, and quick witted, yet as loving as Wendy Medrano. Wendy passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024. She lived every day like it was her own personal adventure, making it clear from an early age that she would always be a force to be reckoned with.
As a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend our worlds will never be the same without her. Wendy was always evolving, and she never stopped looking for the magic that only a beautifully eccentric life could provide. She built that life around the family and community she loved, while achieving her dreams which were reflected in her beloved store The House Collective. She truly made an impact that will last well beyond her years on this earth.
Her children were her legacy. Kaileigh, Emory, Isaiah, and Vivian are a testament to the woman she was, as she poured her entire being into them. Wendy could always be counted on to stand up for what she believed in, was confident and vivacious, loved her family and tribe wholeheartedly, and was easily loved by anyone she met.
Wendy is survived by her parents, Jan and Alan Mashak; her daughters, Kaileigh Hamilton and Emory Brewer; sister, Jalana Mashak; brother, Adam Mashak; bonus daughter, Stevie Chizmar, along with countless other family members and friends that loved her dearly. We as a family will mourn this loss for a lifetime, however, we take solace in knowing that she now gets to spend eternity with Vivian, Isaiah, and Berkeley, until we can see her again someday.
As we move forward without her, we ask that you approach life like Wendy, celebrate the ones that mean the most to you, love unashamedly, take tons of pictures and remember to live life to the fullest while becoming exactly who you were meant to be.
A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 5 at the H.B. Stewart Arena. Visitation will be held Monday from 1 – 4 p.m. at the arena, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7.
