Leroy Albert was a devoted father whose life centered on family, hard work, and the simple joys of home. He loved his children and his animals, and he found peace and purpose outdoors and at his work bench. He lost his sight at a young age but never let it slow him down. A gifted gardener, he took pride in the seasons’ rhythms, especially among his Christmas trees, which he was known to trim and shear by feel—steady hands guided by years of experience. In his woodshop, he crafted with care, making trucks and yule logs at Christmas time that became cherished traditions and keepsakes for those he loved.
Albert dedicated his entire career to the Corbett Phone Company, where his reliability, patience, and problem-solving were hallmarks of a long and faithful tenure. He approached his work the way he lived—quietly, diligently, and with a craftsman’s attention to detail. Those who knew him remember a man who could fix almost anything, who preferred action over words, and who measured success in the well-being of his family.
He is survived by his children: Charlie (Marien), Teresa (Jim Gathman), Michael, Kristin (Tim Folliett), Karl (Kim), and Kory (Kathie); 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate to share in his steady presence, his humor, and his generous heart.
A viewing will be held on July 6, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Bateman Funeral Home, 520 W Powell Blvd, Gresham, Oregon.
His service will be held on Saturday July 11th @ 2:00 at the Corbett Community Church 34309 NE Mershon Rd Corbett Oregon.
Albert’s family is grateful for the kindness and support of friends and neighbors during this time. They invite you to honor his memory by tending a garden, lending a hand where it’s needed, or sharing a story that keeps his spirit alive.
