Allan Duane Page began his journey on this earth February 11th, 1940, the first of three sons born to DeWayne and Margaret Page of Dallas, Oregon. Allan grew up on the family farm in Willamette milking cows and causing mischief. His paternal grandfather and namesake was in the home for much of his childhood until his passing in 1954. They formed a close bond which served to aid young Allan in avoiding some harsher punishment for his misdeeds. It was also during this time that Allan enjoyed a relationship with the family dog, Lady, sparking a lifelong love for dogs, especially bulldogs. Allan shared with his son that when he was a boy he told God the one thing about life he would do differently was that when a boy was born he would be issued his dog for life, and never shall the two part.
Allan attended West Linn High School, and shortly after graduating in 1958 he joined the U.S. Marines for a four year term, serving in various points around Japan. In 1963 Allan married the lovely Glenda Turner of Portland. Together they had son Allan and daughter Michelle. In 1972 they chose to raise their family on a small farm outside Canby, where they raised cows, pigs, and a large vegetable garden. For the next 50 years Allan worked very hard maintaining his property.
Allan applied his strong work ethic to his chosen trade of welding as a longtime member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 290. He traveled throughout the Northwest for work, serving on a wide variety of construction projects. He earned numerous awards and credentials for his service.
Allan possessed a sharp mind and spent his life pursuing academic subjects of law and history. He was an avid reader, and owned a large library, in particular, volumes covering the second World War. In recent years, he focused on a book and video series on ancient Greece. He was a fastidious notetaker and kept record of every event on his yearly calendar. Allan also enjoyed spoiling his beloved cat, Squeaky.
Agreeing that it all went by quickly, his journey on this earth ended July 26, 2023.
Allan was preceded in death by wife Glenda and beloved bulldog, Lou. He is survived by brothers, Jerry and Gene Page; by son and daughter in law Allan and Lisa Page, by daughter and son in law Michelle and Kenney McNamee; by grandchildren Laura and Steven Page, Kimberly Kresek, and step grandchildren, Brandon, Shelbie, Crystal and Arees McNamee. And of course, Squeaky. He will be missed.
