Appa Leone Anderson

Appa graduated from Salem High School in 1942. She served her country in the US Army for two years. In 1953 she earned her Doctorate Degree at Western States College of Chiropratics. Dr. Appa was the Departmental Director and Professor of Radiology at Western States College of Chiropatic for 40 years, retiring in 1989. Later she was a consulting Radiologist in private practice until reaching the age of 80.

Dr. Anderson was a member of Holgate Baptist Church for over 50 years. Interests included being a horse woman, artist and horticulture gardening. She traveled extensively doing lectures.

Survivors include her three daughters, Linda McCaffrey, Bonnie Williams and Janet Simpson who all live in Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Dr. Anderson was preceded in death by her son John George Anderson.

Donations may be given to Holgate Baptist Church Building Fund, 11242 SE Holgate Blvd. in Portland, Oregon. A Celebration of Dr. Anderson's Life will be on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Holgate Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
