

Arlene was born on August 17, 1919 in Gresham, Oregon and was the daughter of Arthur and Geneva (Wright) Johnson. She grew up in Corbett living on the family dairy farm and graduating from Corbett High School in 1936. She attended Oregon State University for pre-nursing and graduated from Good Samaritan in 1942. While attending college in Corvallis, she met Harold A. Marble. They were married on September 26, 1942 in Corbett, Oregon. The couple resided in Ohio and California before returning to Corbett in 1964. She resided in Corbett until her death.
Arlene was a hospital volunteer, d id brail transcription and enjoyed tatting, needlepoint, gardening and spending time outdoors. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Harold until his death in 1995. Arlene was the family genealogist and was especially proud of her 1865 pioneer heritage and was active with several local historical societies.
Arlene is survived by her son, Bill Marble of Corbett, daughter, Kathleen “Kit” Dixon of Corbett, sister, Margaret Warren of Corbett and brother, Ross Johnson of Corbett along with 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her husband, Harold preceded her in death.
No services will be held at this time. Contributions may be made in memory of Arlene to the Shriners Children’s Hospital. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
