Spc. Barron Von Reichelt, 24 of Fort Hood TX, passed away on January 7, 2017. He was born on February 20, 1992 in Portland, Oregon to Scott and Angela Reichelt. He attended East Hill Foursquare Church and enjoyed baseball, skateboarding and played guitar and drums.
He entered active-duty military service in January of 2015 as a cannon crew member and was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, since April 2016. Reichelt’s awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
Barron is survived by his grandmother Mary Jane Reichelt of Las Vegas NV; grandfathers Hal Reichelt of Ft. Worth TX and Harlan Holter of Vancouver WA; father Scott Reichelt (Deanna) of Gresham OR; mother Angela Pierce (Brian) of Long Beach WA; son Erik Reichelt of Molalla OR; twin sister Heidi Crete of Long Beach WA; brother Nathan Reichelt of Gresham OR; stepbrothers Chase & Brice Jackson both of Gresham OR; stepsisters Miranda Jackson of Gresham OR and Janelle Ramirez of Gresham OR and his fiancé Denisha Baker of San Angelo TX.
Visitation will be from Noon to 5:00pm on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home. Graveside Services with Military Honors will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon with a reception to follow at the East Hill Church Office Complex.
