Bernard attended Gresham and Benson High Schools. He served his country in the United State Army Airborne.
Bernard married Dorothy Stark on August 24, 1957. Bernard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making jewelry from rocks.
Bernard is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, son Michael, two daughters, Rose Hendrix and Roxann Tibbetts, three brothers, Jim, Jack and Pat Blasdell, five grandchildren; Steve, Christina, Wendy, Marc and Jack, plus nine great grandchildren; Dominque, Kyrra, Dorothy, Topanga, Elizabeth, Ben, Nicholas, Sophie and Vance, plus two great great grandsons.
Graveside service will be on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
