Betty McKay

Betty married Jack McKay on September 26, 1947 and together and they raised four children. Betty was a home maker. She managed the home preparing and raising the children within the family. Betty knew no stranger and welcomed everyone into her home.

She enjoyed quilting, reading, traveling, canning, painting and ceramics. Sweet caring, and loving are just a few of the many words used to describe Betty. She loved the time she spent with her family and friends. Also, she was a part of the McDonalds social club. This is a group of retirees in the community that met every day, except Sunday, at the McDonalds in Gresham for coffee and social time over the last 30 years. Lastly, Betty was devoted to her faith.

Betty was preceded in death by her brothers Mike and Chuck; daughter Betsy; and grandsons Scotty and Charlie. She is survived by her husband of over 68 years, Jack; sister Nancy; children, Mike (Ellen), Russ (Jackie) and Bill (Xieu); grandchildren: Stefanie, Michael (Julie), Shannon, Jon (Brittne), Dan (Chynele), Chris (Elaynea), Diem, Duy (Tien), Jason (Ashley), Tammy (Aaron), Darlene, Angela (Mike), Wil and great grandchildren: Mathew, Zachary, Piper, Paisley, Cora, Jaedyn, Perrin, Summer, Carson, Lane, Kellen, Tori and Leia.

A funeral service will be held at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 12:30pm with a viewing prior starting at 10:00am. A private interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
