Known affectionately as Bev, she had a gentle spirit and a kind heart that made everyone around her feel welcome. She brought joy to others through her patience and quiet generosity. She cared deeply for her family and the many pets she adored throughout her life, especially her beloved cats.
Bev dedicated more than 30 years to a career in banking, serving her community as a teller with the same kindness and attention she brought to every aspect of her life. Outside of work, she spent decades participating in a bowling league where she created lifelong friendships and memories.
Bev is survived by her loving daughters, Shari (Pete) and Shelly (Chris); her cherished sister, Maxine (Herb); adored nieces and nephews; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matie and Everett, and her beloved husband, Reginald “Jean” Walthall.
Bev held a warm place in her heart for abandoned and neglected cats, always believing that every animal deserved love, comfort, and a safe home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to House of Dreams, a local cat shelter in Portland.
May we remember Bev in the quiet moments such as a warm cup of coffee, a friendly card game, the beauty of an Oregon drive, and the simple kindness she showed to everyone she met.
