Bridget, my Bridgey, my Brett, my friend. My first friend at Conestoga when I was new and had nobody else to talk to yet. We talked in the bathroom about our poems from class, and it went from there. We were friends for years. I miss you so much. I love you so much and I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to say anything here. I miss the adventures we had and the laughs and everything we shared. I still have my purple Giwi llama, they sit right next to my bed and I think of you whenever I look at them. My baby that you met is now a five year old who’s gonna be in kindergarten soon, and she has two younger siblings that I wish you could have met. I’ll tell them all about you, okay? We have been thinking about you a lot and wanted to say how much we are missing you. Miss your good nature and laughter. It's not the same without you. We love and miss you very much.

You made me laugh, a LOT. You always had a new cosmetology project, which was always an adventure for my hair! I only have one memory with you where you were not smiling, which says a lot about how often you shined. Wish we kept in touch after college but I am glad I knew you, lady. May you be at peace. 

I’m am not even sure what to say, I’m still at a loss for words. You were so young and had your whole life ahead of you. So excited to be a mom and start your little family with Matthew. 
After seeing you on Christmas, I saw the happiness in you, you had grown up to be such a beautiful, kindhearted women. 
I am not a big picture taker, but this day was a fond  memory as you graduated college. I was so proud of you. You will forever be in my heart and memories

When you were born, you were so small. We couldn't be happier to have our first granddaughter. It was such an exciting moment for us and the rest of the family. Who knew that a 4lb 2oz baby could touch so many lives. 

We have so many good memories like doing Easter Egg hunts in our yard, going out on the boat, riding on the jet ski, camping, the beach and yes, even riding the tractor mower and having you help work on your car in grandpa's shop.

We were so excited to find out that we were going to be great-grandparents for the first time.  Both of you will be deeply missed and there are no words to describe the emptiness in our hearts for you. When we get to the other side, we hope to see you and our great-grandbaby. We will always love and miss you so very much but you will be with us always in our hearts.

I keep trying to write this message, and every time, the words escape me. Maybe that is because I just cannot believe it, or don't want to believe, that you are actually gone...

I remember the day Bridget was born like it was yesterday. Heather's water broke in the tent that we were sharing while camping at our annual camping trip to Pioneering in the Pines. That was quite a shock! I was so scared and nervous hoping that everything was going to be ok since it was so far before her due date. And after what seemed like the longest car ride ever imaginable trying to get Heather back to the hospital in Portland, Bridget arrived. There she was- my first born niece- so tiny, but coming into this world with quite the entrance! From that first moment I saw her, I felt such a connection, and fell in love at first sight.
 
Bridget was such a fun, kind, loving little girl. I loved spending time together. Like the time we went to the pumpkin patch and carved our first pumpkin together for Halloween and baked cookies, and our "girls days" when I lived nearby and could go hang out and do "girly" stuff like get our nails done. And of course, the year that Bridget came back to Florida with me and stayed for the summer...there are so many good memories.

My heart is broken that all we have now are memories, but I will hold those dear to me forever. 
 
I am lucky to have known Bridget, to be her Aunt, and to see the beautiful and amazing woman she had become. She knew how to have a good time, loved spending time with her family, and could always make you smile. You made this world a better place and I will forever miss you. We will ALL forever miss you.

My heart aches to think that I will never get one of your amazing bear hugs or hear your infectious laugh. You had fun, were full of life and you will be missed so very much. One of my favorite memories with you was going to the Maroon 5 concert. We had so much fun getting ready singing dancing and celebrating life. You were one of the first friends I made at MHCC and I can’t thank you enough for all of the laughs and memories we had together. Thank you for letting me be your hair model at school and encouraging me to keep my hair natural rather than straighten it everyday. I remember after taking this photo you said how fried and frizzy my hair looked, and boy were you right 😂😭 . I’m glad I followed your advice since then and have embraced my curls. 💜  Otherwise I would still be walking around like that.. 🥲 While there were times I’m sure we both got on each other’s nerves, I could always count on you as my friend. I’m sorry I didn’t keep in touch as much as I should have these past couple of years. I’ll always have you in my heart. ❤️ 

I really didn’t know her that well but we worked at amazon together, on the same shift and I believe the same manager. We both were ambassadors there as well and coached associates with each other.. I hope you are no longer suffering in any way.

Where do I even begin to start...
You were the most happiest, outgoing, loving person I had ever met. You were there for me through all the rough and tough times. All the memories we shared. Everything new that I had experienced, I experienced that with you... So many memories flutter through my mind. It hurts, but it also helps me remember what an amazing person you are! What I loved the most about you, is you could make anyone’s day better instantly. You didn’t care what other thought, you just kept striving in life. With such a bright future ahead of you.. you will be missed.. God has Gained another angel.. 🙏 I love you Bridget ❤️

The first time I met Bridget in class at MHCC a few years ago. She had a very bubbly funny personality that I won’t forget.  After that day, I knew we would be good friends. Went to parties, sport games, even the movies.  I remember her 21 birthday party,  a night to remember.  We and others went bar-hopping all around Portland and end the night at VoDoo Donuts. :) 
I really wished I hang out with her more and talked. She was a really good friend to me and will never forget her. 

Bridget, Matthew, and River (her dog) started an amazing family that will never be seen smiling, heard laughing, or enjoying the loving company of friends and family, I am filled with sorrow for what will never be.
Bridget loved her dog river with every fiber of her being and was willing at one point to be homeless to keep him, I worry for him and his life without his mommy and how he will comprehend it. I am positive that Matthew will take very close loving care of him in her place, and he always has a home with me, his meemaw.
So many things to say and never enough time to say them.
I will miss so much about Bridget I can’t even put it to all to words.  I hope what I have shared today helped bring more of her light into your lives.  The sorrow I feel that no one will get to experience all she had to offer as a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, wife, friend, and soon to be mother truly devastates me in a way I never thought possible.
So much love and life to share, and she’s gone.  
My sorrow is endless.
My grief unknown as part of the light of my life is extinguished never to laugh, hug, dance, sing or cry together again.

I think we can all agree that she has always been a wild driver, I’m sure we all remember when she drove the 4 wheeler into the fence behind dad’s house, or when she spun around and into a dirt wall at the beach, or maybe it was the time she high centered her car on a boulder in a parking lot, no… it was definitely the curb by her work when it was snowing.  Regardless of all of this she always got where she was going eve if it was a bumpy ride.
I remember being her designated driver for her 21st birthday.  We truly had a time that night.  We got pulled over for a burned out tail light, and I remember the officer asked what we were doing out that evening, and I replied designated driver for my daughter who just turned 21 while pointing to her in the back seat, where there sat Bridget, wild haired drunk, wearing a tutu and a sash declaring her night of fun to everyone while waiving a wand around.  He smiled, and I still remember his words “everything seems in order here” and sent us on our way home. It still makes me smile.
Bridget’s had a lot of ups and downs in life and love, but I can truly say as her mother that I spoke with her often nearly every day, and she has never been so optimistic, hopeful, and happily heading toward her place in life as she has been since meeting her fiancé Matthew.  Her next destination was to be a mother for the first time with her fiancé.  
I still remember when she told me the news, it made me happy, excited, and amazed that I was going to be a grandma “meemaw” as she called it, and she glowing with excitement to be a new mom.
So excited she was already planning a mandalorian and baby yoda cosplay for herself and the baby.
Bridget’s passion for cosplay and Japanese culture was truly amazing.  She attended many conventions and events wearing her handmade cosplays where she made a lot of friends along the way.


Where do you start? I’m not sure.  First and foremost Bridget is my sweet tiny baby girl.  I still remember the day she was born in the NICU 3 months premature at 4lbs 2oz.  She wasn’t breathing and I panicked as they were rushing her from the room when she let out a loud indignant howl just before the door shut, it was music to my ears.  I still remember looking at my doctor with a smile and saying “did you hear that? She cried!”
Bridget was never the quiet one she has always been loud, proud, and full of life since the beginning and willing to share it with anyone who crossed her path.  You would never guess she was so tiny and had such a rough start when seeing the 6 foot tower of amazing that she grew up to be.
Bridget is a true artist; whether it was drawing, painting, pottery, photography, and even makeup… she truly brought love and beauty into her art.  After graduating high school, she went on to graduate with honors from Mt Hood Community College and made me so very proud.
I will miss her shining light.
I will miss our trips to the beach, to many jello shots, and silly sloshy giggles up and down the boardwalk.
I will miss our private talks about life’s ups and downs
I will miss her random texts from dressing rooms asking “does this look good?”
Buts most of all I will miss her beautiful face, her smile, her company, and contagious laugh that would always make you smile.
There are so many things I will miss about Bridget, I will spend a lifetime remembering them, and dreaming about what could have been.
Bridget is a champion always ready to stand up for what she thought was right, and defend someone when they needed help.  Generous to those around her, and despite living with a good deal of pain caused by various health issues, she always did whatever it took to get the job done with silly humor and wisecracks to keep you smiling along the way.


Baby Girl, 
When I first met you life was complicated. 
You were just a tiny baby hooked up to a monitor.  I was a young mother holding my step daughter for the first time.  So much confusion was happening at that time but it was to figure out what would be best for for you.
June 1997 you visited your little sister for the first time.  You sat next to me and caressed Brianna’s tiny head.  So proud to be a big sister. You searched all around her (Brianna) and gathered every little piece of lent or tiny speckled paper and put it in my hand.  I said to you “Thank you baby girl” with every little treasure you placed in my hand.  
You clung to baby Bri and loved her so much. We clung to you with love and treasured your illuminating smile.  
The last time we hugged you ran into my house with Brianna and wrapped your arms around me.   This was a real heart felt hug.  
Rest assured baby girl, we have all reunited for you.  A family of unity for you my girl.  So all of our thoughts and prayers are united because of you.  I’m really really sorry we can’t spend this time with you but you can carry our hearts with you always. 

Bridget was my first niece. I was only 14 when she was born and I remember getting to the hospital after several hours drive from LaPine and learning that she was in NICU which of course I didn’t fully understand being 14 years old and a kid myself. Dad (Grandpa) took me to see her and as luck would have it the nurse was checking on her and needed to reposition her and asked if I wanted to help. I was so scared that I was going to hurt her or do something wrong because she was so tiny but Dad and the nurse urged me to help so as I understand it, I was one of the first (or maybe the first) to hold her. Heather was so mad at me for that but I wore it as a badge of honor. In that moment when Bridget fit in the palm of my hand, I would have never thought she would grow so tall and commanding. I loved seeing her when I came home for holidays, summers and the few trips she made to the East coast for my graduations, summer break and my wedding. I will always remember the way she would scoff at me and yell “Michael!!!” when I told a mix of inappropriate or dad jokes or her smile and laugh when we would share life stories. Even the way she played along and helped me when we maybe made some inappropriately shaped Christmas cookies! But that was Bridget... always laughing, always loving to spend time with her family and always one to have a good time and smile. I will miss her dearly and while I wish I’d shared more time making memories with her I do have some very good and very meaningful ones in the bank. I’m happy for the time we had but sad at the thought of times that were yet to come. My last time with Bridget was just around Christmas in 2019. We were celebrating one of her friends birthdays and she was having a grand ol’ time; laughing, smiling and swinging on the swing-set in between drinks. It was so great to spend some of those times with her. I’ll miss her always but my love for her will never fade. Rest in Paradise Bridget! Your “Uncal” Mike loves you very much!

You were my first born grandchild and you had my heart from the moment I held you. I remember the day you got your diploma from college and the smile you had when you walked off the stage that said “look out world here I come”. Being your grandma was amazing. Your laugh was so special and even though you teased me about our “hugs” they were warm and from the heart. I love you honey and I will miss you every day.

Bridget was an amazing friend. I will never for get the amazing times we have had together.  Her sarcastic personality meshed with mine perfectly!  The world will never be the same without her. Bridget cared about everyone and always tried to be there for anyone in need. 
   I will always remember the time my car was totaled she was there for me every day  for a month she drove 30 minutes out of her way to pick me up and take me home. 
   I only wish that I could have spent more time with her she was a great friend.



I'm so sorry to hear the horrible news. Since I live on the opposite side of the country I didn't get to know Bridget very well or spend much time with her, but I enjoyed the month, when she was a teenager, that she came to stay with us. I wish we had more of those visits.

Bridget was my sister, the person I grew up around. We had our sibling fights and our loving times. I always knew no matter what she had my back, even if we were in a spat. I loved her so much, and I am so unbelievably glad, our last interaction with her was good, ending our conversation on the phone with an I love you. I still find it hard to believe I lost someone so close to me, let alone my sister. I remember memories of our silly interactions together, like when I was little and we would jump on a water bed together, and whenever she would randomly say hey you wanna go to olive garden? Those are my favorite memories of her, laughing together and having a blast. A most tender moment when she hugged me the night my horse died and said if I needed her for anything to let her know. She has always been there for me. And I'm thankful for the time I had with her. Thank you Bridget, for being my sister, and watching over me. I will see you again. Rest in peace. I never had any pictures with her, but here is my favorite of her, shes so pretty.

Another great photo from the wedding. I’ll miss Bridget’s smile, laugh and the way she would snarl at my stupid jokes and antics. She really was a special person and I’ll miss her dearly. 

I have a lot of memories and laughs I can share but I don’t have a lot of photos with the whole family which is why this one is so special to me. A great March day in Florida for our wedding. I’m really happy that Bridget and the family were able to come to Florida to celebrate with us and even happier that I have some photos with the family to be able to look back on.
