Bryan lived life to the fullest as a true warrior who never backed down from a challenge. Whether serving as a Marine, building his business from the ground up, or simply being there when you needed him most, his optimistic spirit, quick humor, and "figure it out" attitude inspired everyone around him.
Bryan was born on May 18, 1981, in Portland, Oregon, to Allen and Judy Cox. He grew up in Oregon City alongside his sister, Libby.
Bryan graduated from Oregon City High School in 1999. After high school, he attended Multnomah Bible College for one year before answering a deeper call to service. In 2001, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following his time in the military, Bryan continued his education and earned his Bachelor of Science in Operations Management from the Oregon Institute of Technology in 2012.
Bryan proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 2001 to 2005. Shortly after his enlistment, the tragic events of September 11, 2001, reshaped the nation and called him into action. He was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, serving two tours in Iraq and taking part in the start of the ground war.
A born entrepreneur, Bryan carried the same drive and grit from his military service into his career. He founded Mudd Dawg Concrete Pumping in 2008, building it from the ground up through hard work and vision.
Bryan shared a meaningful relationship with Carolyn Ramsey, and together they welcomed one son, Tryggr Cox, who was the pride and joy of his life.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. Bryan's passions included camping, hiking, riding his ATVs, restoring his beloved 1973 Scout, enjoying fast and expensive cars, and traveling. Whether on the ocean, in the mountains, or simply under the open sky in the middle of nowhere, Bryan always wanted to be outside, soaking up the freedom and beauty of nature. But above all, Bryan's greatest passion was his faith and his desire to share it with others. Bryan forged lasting friendships that spanned the years and miles, from childhood companions to his Marine brotherhood. He was loved and cherished by many, with a remarkable ability to connect with his friends like brothers, embodying loyalty and a depth of love that left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
The name Bryan means “strong and courageous,” a truth he lived out daily in his service, his work, his adventures, and his relationships. Bryan will be remembered for his infectious laugh and humor, unwavering loyalty, and the way he made everyone feel valued and cared for. His courage, humor, and unshakable optimism will live on in the countless lives he touched.
Bryan is survived by his family, Carolyn Ramsey and their son, Tryggr Cox; parents, Allen Cox and Judy Woodruff; and sister, Libby Radabaugh.
