Carey Jay Price

Carey Jay Price passed away Sept 29, 2025. He was born in Aberdeen, WA Nov 5, 1950 to Carey John and Ann Marie Price. The family moved to the Lents area of Portland, OR where he, his sister Jacqueline, and his brother, Wray went to grade school. He graduated Centennial High in Portland, where he was an active member of the band, playing the saxophone.

He had 4 children, daughter Jennifer Ann Smith (Darris) of Portland, and son Carey James Price III of Camas, WA and daughters, Ashley Price of Walla-Walla, WA, and Samantha Lansing of Longview, WA. His grandchildren are Shamus Smith, and Shelby Smith Duffy (Taylor) and Athena Price.

He married Yvonne in 1993. They met at Oaks Park in Portland where they skated for 2 years as a competitive team. Later they joined the River City Square Dance Club in Milwaukie, OR where they had a great time square dancing for several years. They lived in Sellwood, OR for 24 years then moved to 5 acres near Chehalis, WA before he passed away.

His lifelong interest was repairing things which he turned into his vocation retiring from Patterson Dental where he was a dental repair technician installing and repairing everything in a dental office from hand pieces to x-rays.

A celebration of Carey’s life will be November 15, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home 520 W. Powell Blvd Gresham, OR 97030.
