Carmella Adcock passed away on October 22, 2013 in Portland, OR at the age of 93. She was born on August 24, 1920 in Portland, OR to parents Dominico and Amelia Zullo. She attended the Portland Girls Polytechnic High School and married Lee Adcock in 1937.
Carmella was a strong Italian woman, an excellent mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and an incredible cook. She stayed home with her family while her husband was deployed, and worked to help support the family; she worked at Fred Meyer for 36 years until her retirement. Carmella enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, but was always a proper lady. She always fed any guest in her home, and loved her family dearly.
Carmella was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, and granddaughter Jessica. She is survived and missed by her daughter Mona (Monte) Schlechter; grandchildren Candy (Ron) Dey and Robert (Brenda) Reeder; and great- grandchildren Brittiany, Lauren, Austin, and Amanda. A committal service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on Wednesday October 30, 2013 at 2:00pm. Arrangements by Bateman Carroll Funeral Home.
