Claire E. McCoy, 98, of Gresham, passed away February 25, 2015. She was born in Lebanon, South Dakota on Oct. 29, 1916 to Carl & Laura (Bakken) Erickson and she graduated high school from Carlton High School in Yamhill. On January 27, 1943 she married Jack McCoy in Portland, Oregon and together they raised two sons Gary and Jeffery. Claire spent many years volunteering with Loaves and Fishes in Oregon. She enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, golfing, painting, playing card games and cooking. She loved collecting and trying out new recipes. Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; siblings Vernon Erickson, Margaret Tautfest, Viola Fortier, Lilyan Schwartz. She is survived by Gary(Sandy) & Jeffrey(Jeanne); 7 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or the American Heart Association in the memory of Claire McCoy.
