Steve was born on September 17, 1949 in Portland, Oregon and was the son of Clayton and Rosalia (Becker) Card. He graduated from Washington High School in 1967 and later attended Reed College and Portland State University where he studied Math and Computer Science.
Steve worked for Bohm Electric in Portland as a bookkeeper for several years. He was a voracious reader, chess player and photographer. He also enjoyed classical music, gardening, spending time with his nieces and nephews, and a good cup of coffee.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Clayton, in 1991. He is survived by his mother, Rosalia, of Gresham, brothers:
Bob Card of Milwaukie and Jim Card of Gresham and sister: Carolyn Camp of Gresham along with seven nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home; September 7th at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the National Kidney Association of Oregon and Washington or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
