Danny Eugene Lundervold, 77, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020. He was surrounded by his wife, Barbara (Buckner) Lundervold, of 52 years, his three children, his daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and his oldest granddaughter. He had been battling pulmonary fibrosis for the last 3 years.
Dan was born on March 26th, 1943, in Clear Lake, Wisconsin. He was the fourth of five children. His family moved to Oregon when he was 2 years old. He served 2 years in the Navy on the USS Ranger, from 1960 to 1962. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He met his wife Barbara at the department store where they both worked in 1967. Together they had three children, Stacie Behrmann, Stephanie DeVries, and Matthew Lundervold. He was also a beloved Papa to 11 grandchildren.
Many of the family’s fondest memories with Dan include countless family get-togethers barbecuing and three weddings in the beautiful backyard he loved so much. His grandchildren will always remember the tractor rides on the John Deere and swinging on the swing set he built. You would often find him enjoying the outdoors, tending to the backyard he created, on his favorite John Deere tractor, pressure washing anything he could think of, dancing, and spending time with his loved ones.
Dan requested to be cremated. As a military veteran, his ashes will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2021, his favorite season, in his beautiful backyard in Damascus, Oregon. The date is to be determined.
