

David R. Christmann, 60, died unexpectedly on July 20, 2015. He was born in Hood River, Oregon, on November 13, 1954 to Gordon and Eulene (Chambers) Christmann. He graduated from Centennial High School in 1972 as Valedictorian and from Oregon State University in 1976 with a Bachelors’ of Science in chemistry. He earned a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Michigan State University in 1980. He married Margaret Baker in 1975 and they raised two sons, Andrew and John. He worked as an analytical chemist first for Boeing and at the time of his death for Hewlett Packard. He was a member of the American Chemical Society and a supporter of OPB TV and the American Red Cross where he gave blood several times a year. He loved spending time with his family, gardening, bee keeping, cooking, and reading about science. David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margaret; his sons Andrew and John; his brothers Darrow (Diana) and Donald (Sydney) and his sister Denise (Mark) Danielson. A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm, July 31, 2015 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. Remembrances may be made in David’s name to OPB and the American Red Cross.
