

Donald moved from Wenatchee, Washington to Pilot Rock, Oregon when he was 10 years old and graduated from Pilot Rock High School in 1948.
Donald married his first wife, Beatrice June Hemphill Humphries in 1951. Beatrice died in 1972.
Donald served his country in the US Army in the Korean War from 1951-1953 .
Donald graduated from Willamette University in 1955 with his B.A. and Master’s Degrees in Education. Donald taught and coached at Pilot Rock High School for 7 years. During this period he coached the Pilot Rock Basketball team to a state championship in 1959. He left teaching because of cancer.
Donald went to Portland State University and earned a degree in accounting. He then worked for Cascade Corporation for 25 years as an accountant.
Donald married Nancy Carscallen in 1974 in Portland, Oregon.
Donald has been a Portland area resident since 1965.
He was a member of East Hill Church in Gresham where he served as an elder, lay pastor, prayer ministries and was a council member.
Donald is survived by his loving wife Nancy Humphries, of Portland, OR., three children, Susan Comrie, Pendleton, OR., Gary Humphries, Pendleton, OR., and Linda Betts, Lincoln City, OR., plus his six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at East Hill Church of the Foursquare Gospel located at 701 N. Main Ave. in Gresham, Oregon.
Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
