

Donna Jean Arvidson, a cherished and devoted resident of Portland, Oregon, passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 94. Donna was born on November 27, 1930, to her parents Grover Preston and Doris Preston in Utah.
Donna attended Bear River High School in Utah, and after Parkrose High School in Portland, Oregon. On November 12, 1949, Donna married William Edward Arvidson in Portland, a union that began through a high school friendship. Their marriage was a testament to their deep devotion, which lasted many years.
In her free time, Donna had a passion for gardening vegetables and flowers, and she enjoyed crafts such as macrame and crochet. Her creativity was evident in her hobbies, which brought joy to her and those around her. In her community, Donna was actively involved with the Low Vision Group at the Community Center, where she helped coordinate meetings and make calls.
Donna's sense of humor and quick wit were well-known to those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a loving, caring, and giving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and affection.
She is survived by her children, Debbie, Danny (Erin), and DeAnn; her grandchildren, Michael (Tammy), Michelle (Jon), Steven Jr., Andrew (Lindsay), and Jessica; and her great-grandchildren, MiKayla, MiKenzi, Angelica, Seth, Andrew, and Marcus.
She was preceded by her late husband, William Arvidson, and her parents, Grover and Mary Preston.
A visitation will be held at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, located at 520 W Powell Blvd, Gresham, OR 97030, on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Donna will be laid to rest the following day at Willamette National Cemetery.
Donna Jean Arvidson's life was a testament to her cherished qualities and her unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
