Donna Marie LaVaque

Donna LaVaque, age 83, passed away Sunday, October 16th in Gresham. Donna was born July 30, 1928, in Polk, Nebraska to Lloyd and Mildred Wright. Donna graduated from Girls Polytechnic High School in Portland, Oregon in 1947. Donna volunteered over 7,000 hours of service at Legacy Mt. Hood Hospital caring for patients and touring children as the Sunshine Bear. She was an avid Gresham Gopher fan and attended as many of the football games as she could since 1982.

Donna met Russell LaVaque while he was serving in the Navy during World War II. They were married June 21, 1947, in Portland.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Russell LaVaque. Survivors include her sons, Gregory, Marc and Russell LaVaque of Gresham and Arthur LaVaque of Portland; daughters Linda Coulter of Portland and Christine LaVaque of Gresham; brothers Dennie Wright of Portland and Loran Wright of Gresham and sister Gayleen Lucas of Portland; 11 grand-children and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday October 22nd at 11:00 AM at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home.
