Born on December 15, 1946, to Edna Williams and Gilbert Kearney in Indianola, Iowa, Dowell was the youngest of eight children. Her life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her community.
After moving to Portland, Dowell pursued a career as a bus driver, a role she embraced with commitment and pride for over forty years. Her kind and thoughtful nature left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered, both on and off the bus.
Dowell is survived by her cherished daughter, Tiffanie Kearney, her loving grandson, Christian Ramos-Kearney, and her adored great-granddaughter, Camille Ramos.
Her selflessness and deep concern for the wellbeing of her family were evident in every aspect of her life, as she always put their needs above her own. Dowell's legacy of generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
