E. Doris Cunningham

Mrs. Cunningham was born in Jay, Oklahoma on April 10, 1921, the daughter of D. P. and Cora McLain. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Don McLain, husband Lester Cunningham and daughter Joyce Vurik. She is survived by her grandson Jason Michael Vurik; nephews Kennith and Kyle McLain and niece Connie Battenfield.

Doris joined the working force at the beginning of WWII with the Civil Service. After she married, whatever state they lived in , she would transfer to remain in the Civil Service. Doris' daughter Joyce was born in Portland, OR and the family moved to San Diego shortly thereafter. In Joyce's teenage years they moved back to Portland, where Joyce went to college, married, and gave birth to Doris' grandson Jason.

Doris' favorite hobbies were sewing and reading, in later years, exercise and health took over. God and church family became very important and she was baptized in 1996.

Funeral services for E. Doris Cunningham will be held Thursday October 10, 2013 at 11:00am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. Internment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
