He was the 1st born of two children. The family had a vacation home in Barview, Oregon and spent many happy years at the beach. Ed went to Commerce High School and a year at Garibaldi High School before enlisting in the Army in 1946. He forged his mother’s signature to enlist early. Our dad was a World War II Veteran! He was in the Army, Air-Corps, and the Oregon Air National Guard where he retired after 39 ½ years. Ed enjoyed coaching baseball, supporting all of his children’s sporting events, hunting, fishing, playing golf and being with his family. Mom and Dad were snow birds in their retirement traveling in their RV down to Yuma, Arizona and back for 20 years. During this time they made many lovely friends. Ed and Shirley were dear friends of my parents in Yuma, AZ, Jack and Lavada McFarland. My sister Glenda and I got to spend a lot of time with our parents wonderful group of friends whenever we visited. There friends became very dear to us. I am so grateful we got to see Ed and Shirley when we were in Oregon 2 summers ago for our parents memorial service. Ed was such a kind man, with a great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him, as he was such a special person. Our sincere condolences to Shirley and all of the family we never met, but know how much Ed treasured from so many wonderful stories he shared. I would like to think that Ed is enjoying time with my dad and Walt once again.

Dear Shirley & Family,

Our deepest sympathy on the loss of one of the best guys ever!

Ed was Don's best friend growing up in the old neighborhood off Sandy Blvd. They shared the same birthday, Oct 24th. Don was two years younger than Ed.

Don and I met at a party at Ed and Shirley's and Ed was best man at our wedding. We all spent lots of time together in the early years. Wonderful memories!

Love to you all,

The Livingstons
