Elsie Caroline Porter

Elsie was born on September 7, 1925 in Portland, Oregon and was the daughter of Jacob and Carrie (Miller) Pauli. She attended Kennedy Grade School and graduated from Girl’s Polytechnic High School.

She married Hebert Porter in Portland, Oregon and they had one daughter. They resided in Los Angeles for many years where Elsie worked as a Bank Clerk. They returned to Portland, Oregon where she worked for U.S. Bank in Downtown Portland. She retired in the early 1990’s and moved to Gresham in 2007. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Elsie had many hobbies. She enjoyed the beach, traveling and spending time in Hawaii and at Disneyland. She was also a people person and loved to socialize with family and friends.

Elsie is survived by her nieces and nephews, Caroline, Kathy, Clinton, David, Larry, Donald, Richard, Eugene, David, Debbie, Becky and Bud. Her husband, Herbert, daughter, Sharon Porter and her brothers and sisters, Helen Snalvey, Henry Pauli, Margaret Tyler and John Pauli all preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home. Contributions may be made in memory of Elsie to the Alzheimer’s Association. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
