He was a proud veteran and a staunch supporter of all branches of the United States military.
Eric was also a gifted, self-taught musician. He taught himself to play the guitar and developed a deep love for bluegrass music, both playing and singing the songs he cherished. In his quieter moments, he found joy in tending his garden and lovingly caring for his cherished roses.

His favorite passage of Scripture was
The Lord’s Prayer
(King James Version)
“Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
(Matthew 6:9–13, KJV)
