Ernest Fred Carneau, known to all as “Ernie”, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. He had been battling esophageal cancer since his diagnosis in early 2022.
Ernie was born at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon and was the oldest of 4; he is survived by two of his three siblings. He was a Portland police officer for 26 years and is survived by 2 of his children (3 total, 1 deceased) and 10 grandchildren.
Ernie was an unforgettable man and made an impression on everyone he knew; he will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Ernie knew the Lord and was a born-again Christian, having grown stronger in his faith towards the end of his life. This brings great peace to his family knowing that he is without pain in heaven today. 2 Corinthians 5:8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
