George graduated from Marshall High School and went on to work for the family car wash, bringing steady dedication to the work he shared with those closest to him. Throughout his life, George was a beloved and cherished presence—known for a gentle spirit, a kind heart, and a compassion that showed itself in quiet, everyday ways. He was smart, resilient through life’s turns, and carried a warm humor that could lift a room, always finding simple ways to make people smile. He enjoyed life with his family and friends, and he was deeply loved by all who knew him.
George is survived by his sisters, Alyce El Khal, Georgette Hagerman, Jeanette Mitchell, and Rhomy Invie, and by his brother, Samuel Hanna. He is also survived by 7 nieces and 8 nephews, 5 great grand nieces, and 9 great grand nephews.
A public visitation will be held Monday, August 17, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W Powell Blvd, Gresham, OR 97030.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm with the Mercy Meal to follow at St George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2101 NE 162nd Ave, Portland, OR 97230.
A committal service will follow Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, 11801 SE Mt Scott Blvd., Portland, OR 97086.
