

Georgieanne Rita Pavlicek Lorenz lost her battle to ovarian cancer at the age of 72, In Gresham Oregon on April 6th surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 15, 1938 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Vincent and Sylvia Pavlicek. She was the eldest of five children Lester, Mary Jane, Vincent and John. She married Eugene Lorenz in 1956, and they have four children Sheri (Jay) Grant, Suzanne Revel, Mari (Tim) McKnight, and Mark Lorenz. She received her Bachelor and Master degrees at Portland State University in Library Science and Administration. Georgieanne worked for 31 years in the Gresham Barlow School District, including Dexter McCarty, Clear Creek, and Gordon Russell. Besides being a dedicated librarian she also filled the roles of principal and vice-principal. She was an active member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church, where she helped to establish the parish library, was a member of the Peace and Justice committee, and for years managed the silent auction. Georgieanne volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul, belonged to book clubs, and participated in Adoration at church where she prayed for those she loved. Traveling, gardening, reading and cooking were some of her many interests. She developed the business Georgieanne’s Berry Best selling her syrups and jellies at Saturday Markets, Art and Craft fairs, as well as online. Preceded in death by her husband Eugene and her father Vincent, and is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren, Michael, Wesley, Larry, Amy, Kelli, Heather, Alicia, and Caitlin, and ten great grandchildren. The one thing dear to her heart was her relationships with family and friends. It was her unconditional love that meant always having time to listen, advise and encourage. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to St. Henry Catholic Church Library Fund.
Memorial Mass will be on Thursday, April 15th at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church 346 NW 1st St. in Gresham. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham, Oregon.
