Gerald "Jerry" Fort, 81 of Corbett, Ore., died peacefully on April 30, 2021 after a long battle with E-Coli from open heart surgery in July 2020. He was survived by his wife of 57 years, Connie Fort; son, Robert (Becky) Fort of Sumter, S.C.; daughter, Carrie Fort-Ludwig (Scott) of Oregon City, Ore.; son, Mike (Michelle) Fort of Corbett, Ore., six grandchildren, Brittany, Shannon, Josie, Danielle, Lane, and Morgan; and one great-grandchild, Emmaline. He is also survived by three sisters; one brother; and he was preceded in death by two siblings.
Jerry honorably served in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a machinist from Boeing Aircraft in Portland, Ore., after 25 years. Jerry was a member of East Hill Church since 1980 and served in various capacities. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding the birds and his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on June 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at East Hill Church Family in Gresham, Ore. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Apple of His Eye Charity (www.appleofhiseyecharity.org) or Good News Community Health Center (www.goodnewschc.org).
