

Gerald now rejoins his first wife, Helen (Price) Hamann, who passed away April 4, 1990 after 42 years of marriage. He leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Geraldine (Clark) Hamann, his sons Mike, Steve, Lucas, and Tom and Step daughters Suzzanne, Barbara, and Nancy along with 33 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren.
Gerald was born in Portland, OR and raised in Independence, OR. While in Independence their farm home started with no running water, indoor plumbing, or electricity. After their farm house burned, he and his father built a new house and slowly began getting those modern wonders. He was very involved in School Sports and the High School’s FFA program. He was awarded the FFA State Farmer award during his time there. In 1944 he joined the Army. He trained at Fort Lewis and was stationed in the Pacific during WWII. After the war he used the GI Bill to attend and graduate college. His career was focused on Education working as an elementary school teacher, principle, and school district administrator retiring from Centennial School District.
Gerald loved his family. He devoted his life to providing for and teaching them. His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing which he carried on until his body just would not let him continue. He leaves behind a legacy of loving and helping family, honoring and serving God, and enjoying the beauties of the outdoors.
