Jack Edgar Neamy Jr., lovingly known to most as Jay, entered into the presence of his Savior on January 9, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 5, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, and was raised in Southern California before making Oregon his home in 1981.
Jay built a long career in the technology industry, where he advanced from technician to engineer through dedication and perseverance. He lived in Hillsboro, Oregon for 23 years, and later resided in Gresham and West Linn.
Jay had a deep love for the Oregon Coast, enjoyed following the NFL and the Oregon Ducks, and held firmly to the values of the Boy Scout Creed. Above all else, Jay loved Jesus. He worshiped faithfully and cherished Psalm 118:24: “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
He is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen; his daughters Pauline Paulson, Marie Mayer, Christine Chapman, and Rebekah Lloyd; grandchildren Matthew Pettis and the late Christopher Pettis, Melissa Bulifa, Mathias Mayer, Amanda Chapman, Josiah Lloyd, Abby Watson, and Isabella Lloyd; great-grandchildren Zane Bulifa and Alakai Watson; his sisters Carolyn Jackson and Diane Haynes; and his faithful companion, his dog Charlie.
An intimate family gathering will be held at the Oregon Coast to celebrate Jay’s life. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
“He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7) Now in peace with the Lord.
