Jacquelyn H. Janes

Jacquelyn was born on July 24, 2919 in Coquille, Oregon and was the daughter of glen and June (Hill) Ray. She graduated from Jefferson High School and completed her nurses training at Emanual Hospital. She later continued her education at Mt. Hood Community College.

Jacquelyn started her nursing career at Emanuel Hospital and also worked for Moningside Hospital and White House Nursing Home. She worked for 30 years as the Administrator for Port Haven Nursing Home in Portland. She later retired.

Jacquelyn married Leo N. Janes Jr. on September 28, 1952 in Portland, Oregon. They had 4 children and resided Portland. They moved to Gresham in 1962 and were later divorced.

Jacquelyn was a member of Sanctuary Church in Gresham as well as the Emanuel Alumni. She attended thier annual gatherings and enjoyed socializing with her former classmates. She also enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also love cross word puzzels. She did one every day and phoned or emailed her children daily with her puzzel questions.

Jacquelyn is survived by her daughters, Debra Blake of Gresham, Tressa DeVault of Sandy and Denise Chilson of Sandy, son, Leon Janes III of Vancouver and sisters, Roselee Rawls of Sandy and Joanne Frogge of West Linn along with 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Her grandson, Tony DeVault preceded her in death.

A family service will be held at a later date. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
