My Uncle Jim. At the drop of a hat, he would do anything for me, including walking me down the aisle, (against his better judgement) when my Dad couldn't make it, as he was ill. Uncle Jim was fitted for a Tuxedo, and ready to roll when the date arrived. It was, without a doubt, a memorable day. He was thoughtful enough to have brought his saxophone with him as well, and played a few numbers with the entertainment. All of the women who had never seen him play before, promptly fell in love with him, and the gals at my wedding were no exception to this rule, including my new mother-in-law. She cooled her heels later on, after she saw him and Aunt Barbara together, dancing.
He and I spent countless hours together with, and for Grandma (his Mom), including the hardest part, saying "goodbye". He helped me cope with all of that until my Mom (Janet) could get there, then he helped us all.
I love and miss you Uncle Jim, it just won't be the same without you.

We were next door neighbors to Barb, Jim, Jerry and Jim Jr. in 1978. Such a nice family were they. We had to move away to Minnesota in 1984, because of Bob's job with the airlines. It was a move we didn't want to make. Nevertheless, we spent 10 years back there before we made it back to Oregon. In the meantime, we lost contact with Barb and Jim, but, we never forgot them, and how much we liked them. It's shocking how the years have changed all of our lives since 1978. Our condolences to Barb and the boys. The loss of Jim's presence in this world hurts the heart. He was a wonderful human being.
