

McVey, James Thomas “Jim”, age 58, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021. He was born in Toppenish, Washington on January 14, 1963 to Jimmie R McVey and Janice M St. Mars McVey. He graduated from Gresham High School in 1981 and shortly thereafter joined the Marines.
He served his country honorably and received the following decorations: Rifle Expert Badge, Pistol Marksman Badge, Letter of Appreciation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of the Teamsters 206 Union, working for Fred Meyer for over 30 years. He was a man of many talents and trades. He was a lifelong fisherman. He enjoyed bowling and playing horseshoes with friends. He had a green thumb and spent a lot of his time on home improvement projects. He was a blessing and anyone would have difficulty finding someone who did not consider him a friend.
He was the youngest of his siblings; preceded in death by Pam Creswell, and survived by Jeanene Rajsich and Michaelle Olson. He was a loving father to Michael and Christopher McVey and grandfather to Antonio and Raiden McVey.
A funeral service for James will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W Powell Blvd, Gresham, OR 97030. A private committal gathering will occur.
