Grandma Janice - aka "GG" - held a special place in my heart. We would sometimes go years without seeing each other due to distance, but she was always easy to strike up conversation with after a long time apart. Grandma was quite the opinionated conversationalist, right up until the end. 

While we never lived near one another, she never forgot birthdays and cherished the opportunity to send Christmas and Easter cards. And we were always excited when our Christmas box of Pittman & Davis oranges arrived.

When I became a dad, she continued to show just as much interest in my kids' lives as she did in mine. I think GG savored being a great-grandma. She was truly blessed by (*counts on fingers*) at least 10 great-grandkids, the last to arrive being my own kiddos. 

We love you, GG.

GG was a wonderful great grandma to our children, Finn and Ellie. She would never forget their birthday and always sent the most lovely Christmas baskets. GG was also a loving grandma. I will never forget how she loved playing board games with us. No matter what board game we played, she was always up for the challenge. 

GG will truly be missed. 

In case you caught the typo and wondered... the service is at 2:00 pm (not 2:00am).  

Thank you all for your prayers and support as we close this chapter in our lives.  It was an honor to have our mom with us for so long. It will be hard to get used to life without her. I still think a hundred times a day...I need to call and check on her...I wonder if she needs anything...I should stop by for a visit... and then I remember. She's with Jesus now. She has everything that she needs, and she's ok.  We will all adjust together, as a family. We are all in this together. Thanks for being there.
