Jean Leone Garman passed away going home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 21, 2018 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 97. She was born on January 11, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Jack and Leone (Goode) Anderson.
Jean married Glenn George Garman on May 20, 1941 in Reno, Nevada. Glenn passed away in 1988
Jean lived in Oakland, CA. before moving to the Portland Parkrose area in 1946, and finally to Gresham in 1959.
Jean was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Gresham since 1959, where she participated in the Braille program. She was a volunteer at the Good Shepherd Home in Cornelius, Oregon.
Some of Jean’s interests included gardening, reading her Bible, was a good cook and baker, loved her ice cream, liked to do flower arranging and having luncheon tea parties.
Jean is survived by her two daughters, Ann Spiger, Spokane, WA., and Bonnie Webber, Rhododendron, OR., five grandchildren; Kirk, Rick, Holly, Brandy and John, and eight great-grandchildren; Samantha, Gabrielle, Amanda, Nicky, Crystal, Kenneth, Erie, and James, and four great-great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Savannah, Kaydence and Elijah.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Ascension Lutheran Church in Gresham.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church located at 1440 SE 182nd Ave. in Gresham. Private burial will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in The Dalles, Oregon.
