In his final days, Jeffrey Stephen “Cosmo” Kramer was surrounded by his loved ones, who were able to share their loving memories of him. He passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026. Born on February 3, 1949, in Spokane, Washington, Jeff lived a full life. Proud of his Hawaiian heritage, he enjoyed his young childhood days, living in Kailua, Hawaii. He eventually landed in San Diego, where he grew up with his five siblings. His younger days were filled with friends, good times, and surfing. While at Madison High School, he found his passion for music as a drummer in the band and later drumming in gigs around Southern California during his college days at Northrup Institute of Technology.
Jeff is forever proud of serving in the USAF 37th Air Rescue & Recovery Squadron during his time in Vietnam, where he received the distinguished Airman’s Medal for heroic actions. He settled down in Portland where he made a life and family of his own. He spent many years working at Boeing of Portland as a machinist. For a period of time, Jeff worked at Centex Homes as a realtor. When he wasn’t working he was being the best dad and papa ever, attending every activity, sporting event and special occasion there ever was. We will forever miss his funny stories and silly sense of humor, but will miss him here with us, most of all.
Jeff is survived my his wife of 49 years, Linda; children, Kristan and Mychal; son-in-law, Brett Sturgill; grandchildren, Madisen and Taytum; stepmother, Barbara LaPearl; siblings Kenneth Kramer, Kathy Kramer and Penny Cole; all of his extended family and his many dear friends he’s made along the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanne Kramer and Harold La Pearl; step-father, Darby Kramer; sisters, Debbie and Karen Kramer.
In lieu of flowers, do as Jeff “Cosmo” would do…enjoy all of those precious moments with your loved ones, have a beer, go out and explore (Make sure you check that weather and traffic report before you leave! You can never be too careful!), sip your morning coffee while watching his favorite game show “Price Is Right”, and most importantly…insert all the “dad jokes” or hilarious movie lines into every conversation!
