 I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother.  I didn't see Aunt Joanie very often but thought of her often.  Remembering the wonderful family times in Franklin.  I have a great picture taken in front of the Old Mill of Aunt Joanie, Norva, Tooter, Ocho, and my Dad.  My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

I consider myself blessed to have gotten to know Joan for the few weeks that we were able to have her at Whitewood Gardens. She really did always have a smile on her face and a sweet demeanor. Closely before she entered hospice care with us, I witnessed a conversation she had with two other lady residents, over popcorn, about her relationship with the Lord, and about her close relationship with her children and daughters-in-law, who she said she deeply respected. As I had already seen, she was a devoted listener, smiling and nodding, and usually asking a follow-up question about the other ladies rather than contributing something to the conversation that concerned herself. What a sweetheart, I thought. We were lucky to have her, and I know I personally truly admire the Siel family.

We didn't see Joan very often living 400 miles apart but Joan (Jerry's aunt)  was always a neat lady to be around and so enjoyed visiting with her. Our deepest sympathy to the family. We will miss her also, no more Christmas cards to"catch up"

Thinking of all of you at this time. I'm old enough to remember the many gatherings in Franklin when we were younger. They are pleasant memories
and Joan will always be a part of those. Nancy & I were pleased we had the opportunity to visit with her about thing she remembered about her past the family. I will miss her.

Joan was a dear friend that I first met while we both worked for her nephew, Tom Siel.  During the years that followed, Joan and I stayed in contact and had many good times together.  Going to movies, shopping, lunch,and dinner.  Trips to the beach and a wonderful time as passengers on a jet boat trip through the rapids on the Rogue River.  
As we moved into our "Golden Years," we kept in contact. Chatting about our family, friends and our newest "Golden" pains.
I feel so very fortunate to been her friend.  I will truly miss her as dear, sweet woman.

Joan has been a part of me for the past 49 years.  I had her in my life longer than my own mom.  I considered her a sister, sharing stories and our lives always.  I will miss her greatly.  She was a true "lady".

Thinking of all of you at this sad time.  I have fond memories of her (& your family) visiting us on the farm east of Red Cloud.  End of an era, for sure.  Wishing you all love, comfort and peace.
