Jody spent many years of his life in South Carolina, where he cultivated a love for the outdoors, with hiking being one of his greatest passions. Later in life, he found a second home in Portland, Oregon, where he continued to build connections and friendships.
A skilled craftsman and dedicated handyman, Jody worked primarily in construction, specializing in remodeling homes. He took great pride in his work, always striving for excellence in every project he undertook.
Jody was married to Shannon Rogers for 15 years, and together they raised two wonderful children, Chelsea James and Noah Haselden. He valued his family deeply and cherished the time spent with them. He is also survived by his sister, Emily Livingston, and her family, who reside in Oregon.
Throughout his life, Jody was known for his caring and compassionate nature. He had an incredible ability to make people smile, even during challenging times. His humor and kindness touched the lives of many, and he was a steady source of encouragement and support to those around him. Jody dedicated much of his time to the Bethel Temple Church in Virginia, where he taught and led Bible studies on Wednesdays and Sundays. His faith was a guiding force in his life, and one of his favorite verses from the Bible was Nehemiah 8:10, reminding him that "the joy of the Lord is your strength."
