John Hollis Monttoya

John. H Monttoya, 74, of Gresham, Oregon passed away on September 1st 2020 after a long battle with end stage of liver cirrhosis.

John was born on May 14, 1946 to Hollis & Flossie Monttoya in Dayton, Kentucky. After graduating from Equivalency high school in 1969, John went on to study Sociology & Criminology at Xavier University where he received a BS & master degree. He also attended CDI (control data institution),as well as attending PCC college studying Business management and accounting.

After graduation, John Landed a job at ITS (International transportation service), kicking off a 28year career in data processing.

In 1970ish, he met Nancy Kaye Bowden, and they wed in 1973, going on to have 2 children, Hollis Monttoya (deceased) and Alycia Kaye Monttoya.

After retiring in 2011, John spent his time: playing golf, driving his sport car, doing crossword puzzles, watching all types of tv shows, shopping online, playing his guitar, and most of all being with his family.

John was predeceased by both of his parents Hollis & Flossie Monttoya, his son Hollis Monttoya, and wife Nancy Kaye Monttoya. John is survived by his daughter’s Alycia and Ika Monttoya and grandchildren Jada Kaye, John-Anthony, Nijah, Eddie, and Iyanne.
