

John Trembath was born on April 4, 1939 in Winnemucca, Nevada. He passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on December 7, 2020 in Gresham, Oregon.
John spent his formative years in Winnemucca. At age 10, he moved with his family to Mountain Home, Idaho. In 1955, the family relocated to Umatilla, Oregon. He graduated from Umatilla High School in 1957 and enlisted in the Army shortly thereafter, where he was stationed in Korea and Georgia.
He married his high school sweetheart, Rosalie Williams, in Hermiston, Oregon on October 17, 1959. Upon his discharge from the Army, John began working for the Chevron Corporation, managing gasoline service stations. The family resided in Portland, Hood River, Corvallis, and finally settled in Gresham where they raised their four daughters.
After retiring from the Chevron Corporation in 1980, John began working for Alexander Manufacturing building high-end custom wood fixtures. This job allowed John to continue his hobby of woodworking.
His other hobbies included becoming a licensed pilot, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Estacada Rod and Gun Club where he participated in many military shooting matches. He was an active volunteer at the Club assisting on sight-in days.
John is survived by his four daughters; Jennifer Thies, Julie Stiers, Sheila Burnum and Jonelle Dean. Grandchildren: Emily, Sammy, James, Monica, William, Will, Nathan and Matthew; great-grandchildren: Hope, Ella, Kekoa, Christopher, Janie, Lonnie and Tristan; and sister, Mary Georgene Champagne.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Rosalie; and parents George and Delia (Qulici) Trembath.
Private family internment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 10:00am.
